Scylla Page 16

A large underground chamber is shown with broken concrete, exposed pipes, and scattered rubble. In the center stands a massive pink creature resembling a giant sea anemone, its many thick tentacles spreading outward across the chamber floor. A faint glow can be seen emanating from the center of the creature’s body.

Above the chamber, an open manhole allows the sounds of gunfire and explosions from the street to echo down into the tunnels. One of the creature’s long tentacles lashes upward and strikes the ceiling near a manhole opening, A large roar fills the panel as the creature reacts to the chaos above while debris and dust fall from the impact.

Chapter 03: Scylla – Page 16

The Sound From Above

This week, the chamber fills with noise from above. Gunfire and explosions echo down through an open manhole in the street as the conflict on the surface spills into the tunnels below. Scylla has fully emerged from the tunnel, and the chaos above seems to provoke a violent reaction. One of the creature’s tentacles lashes upward and strikes the roof of the chamber with a heavy thud, rattling concrete and pipes while the sounds of the battle continue to thunder overhead.

ALFA provides a Patreon post exploring how we've been communicating the battles on the streets above the tunnels and caverns of our story.

Jackwraith on Process, Perspective, and Progression

By | PatreonWriting

In their latest post, Jackwraith turns inward toward the mechanics of storytelling examining how perspective, structure, and pacing shape the experience of the world beneath Haven. Rather than focusing on surface action, the essay looks at how narrative layering builds tension over time, and how subtle shifts in viewpoint can redefine what feels immediate versus distant, controlled versus unstable.

It is a thoughtful reflection on progression, both in the story and in the craft behind it. Readers who enjoy digging into the architecture beneath the panels, the reasoning behind character positioning, and the evolving rhythm of Dystopia will find plenty to consider.

Live hangout February 21

By | DiscordHangout

On Saturday February 21, we’ll be hosting a live hangout on the Dystopia Discord, and you’re invited to drop in, listen, participate, or simply lurk.

The evening will be an open, informal space to talk shop: creating comics, sharing observations about Dystopia, discussing process, and exploring how pages come together in real time.

There’s no agenda and no pressure, just a chance to spend a few hours in the same digital room. We look forward to seeing you!
