Scylla Page 23

Ventrik steps into a murky green pool of water at the edge of the chamber, ripples spreading outward as he steadies himself among scattered debris. Yellow caption boxes convey his internal thoughts, questioning the origins of Scylla and referencing earlier ideas about mutation and the “cess.”

Standing waist-deep in the water, Ventrik balances himself as the surface churns slightly around him. His internal captions continue, questioning how Scylla could be connected to the “net” and what might create that kind of mutation.

A tendril moves through the background as the chamber remains unstable. Ventrik raises his right hand, which is fitted with a technologically augmented glove. The glove features visible circuits and small illuminated elements across its surface. In his internal thoughts, he reflects on the relationship between chaos and possibility.

In the next panel, Ventrik reaches forward and grips a section of Scylla’s tendril as it presses against rubble. The glove’s palm contains small blade-like instruments and a tube-like collection device. As he makes contact, the blades extract a sample from the tendril.

The final panel shows a close-up of the glove, where the collected organic sample is stored inside the built-in capsule. A yellow caption box emphasizes that the sample is now physically in his grasp.

Chapter 03: Scylla – Page 23

Acquisition

Page 23 focuses on Ventrik as he interacts directly with Scylla. What has been studied, questioned, and analyzed across previous pages now becomes something tangible. Building on previous pages where patterns began to emerge through behavior and reaction, this page narrows the moment to a single act of taking a sample as instability of the chamber continues around him.
