Interlude: Sigils

An old, weather-stained journal lies open, its yellowed pages splattered with dark red bloodstains and smeared handprints. Across the top of the page, someone has scrawled a frantic handwritten note in black ink: “Found near Boddy Table, Seventh Level, corpse of previous owner shredded apart while we watched. Have it with me, trying to make it back! – W.”

To the left of the note is a large circular symbol drawn in thick brown ink, an abstract geometric sigil composed of intersecting lines, angles, and small circles. More sigils fill the remainder of the page, each with its own distinctive shape: branching lines, star-like clusters, and intricate configurations resembling arcane diagrams. Some designs look mechanical, others almost biological.

Near the bottom of the page is a bold sun-wheel symbol made of a central ring with eight straight spokes, each ending in a blunt, nail-like shape. Several blood splatters overlay the symbols, adding to the sense of violent urgency. The aesthetic is grim, ritualistic, and ominous, a recovered artifact documenting something dangerous and supernatural.

Interlude: Sigils

As we close out Chapter Two, we couldn’t resist sharing one last bit of “found footage” from the archives, a glimpse into the arcane madness lurking down on the Seventh Level. Jackwraith slipped this one to me with a sly grin - If you’re the type who enjoys digging deeper, you might recognize (or have the desire to decipher) the sigils scattered across the page.

Next week, we dive into Chapter Three: Scylla, and trust me, after everything we’ve explored so far, what comes next will be stranger, sharper, and (we hope) endlessly surprising in all the best ways.
